Annual Review and General Meeting 7pm 26th November 2020

Simon Munk takes questions

We’re holding our covid safe Virtual Annual General Meeting on Thursday 26th November 2020 at 7pm – 8pm. A lot has happened in the year since our 2019 AGM, photo right; a global pandemic has changed lives, killed ten of thousands nationally and a million around the globe. Has it changed people’s world view and their priorities in life? Certainly lockdown saw a massive surge in numbers cycling as well as strangely silent roads, big air quality improvements and birds singing, even in congested Central Bristol.

Then came exciting announcements of new Government money and  plans for active travel. Following our lobbying, Bristol and the West of England Combined Authority put in ambitious funding bids, congratulations both Mayors Rees and Bowles. Furlough produced new activists for your Cycle Campaign and new campaigns for Liveable Neighbourhoods and Cycling Works Bristol, a group of businesses calling for safe cycle routes. We also ran a series of webinars with 100 plus attendees for each. In the summer Bristol Bridge was closed to private motor traffic and wider pavements and pop up cycle lanes went in. Now the momentum is waning and there is a need to continue with encouragement and pressure.

So please join us to hear about these developments and review the year. We’ll also propose and elect our Officers, receive our accounts (which you can view below) and deal with any other formal business. In addition we’ll outline our campaigns for next year and you can volunteer to get involved, if you want. Only members of the Campaign can vote and speak at the AGM but everyone is welcome to attend and you can join here.

Please register on Eventbrite (free) and we’ll email you a link to attend the meeting via Zoom on the day.
