Sun 3 – Life Cycle ‘Bike Minded’ and ‘Over 55s’ Ride
Meet 10-45am for a prompt 11-00am start at the centre of Queen Square BS1 4QS. Not a BCyC Ride, we are supporting and ‘guest hosting’ the ride Art in the Public Realm for Lifecycle UK. You will need to register for the ride (maximum 15 people) by email [email protected] or call (0117) 353 4580 or on the website https://www.lifecycleuk.org.uk/
Sun 10 – Discover Bristol – Open Doors Day Ride (Easy – 15 miles)
Meet 12:15pm start at Venue 79, 212 Eco House, 1 Bishop Lane, BS7 8 NU. Finish about 4:30pm. A leisurely paced ride to a selection of the sites under Bristol Open Doors day, when many of Bristol’s significant buildings open their doors to the general public. Entrance is free. Arrive early if you wish to visit Venue 79.
Sun 17 – Bristol Cycle Festival: Carnivelo and Peaceful Portway
Meet 2:15pm a Cumberland Piazza. For more info visit the website bristolcyclefestival.com. Bristol Cycling supporting Bristol Cycle Festival’s Carnivelo, UK’s only cycle carnival. This year’s theme is Monstrous Creatures & Mythical Beasts; turn your bike into a carnival float, don fancy dress, or came as you are & join the fun.
Bristol Cycle Festival Rides: Discover Bristol series
Meet 5-45pm at the centre of Queen Square BS1 4QS and finish 8pm to 8-30pm (except Thursday)
Mon 18 – Whitchurch Open Garden (Easy – 14 miles)
An evening ride on an arranged visit to a National Garden Scheme regular in Norton Lane Whitchurch.
Tues 19 – Firsts of Bristol (Easy – 9 miles)
This stop start ride goes in search of some of Bristol’s incredible ‘Firsts’.
Weds 20 – South Bristol link road and Malago quietway (Easy -11 miles)
Explore cycleways alongside the new link road and follow the meandering Malago trail.
Thurs 21 – Ideas for cycle route improvements in central Bristol (Easy – 5 miles)
Meet 4:45pm at the entrance of City Hall BS1 5TR. Finish 6pm-6:30pm at City Hall. A tour of cycle routes around the centre where inadequate space for cycling is provided. The ride will finish in time to attend the Bristol Bike forum, if you wish. There will be opportunities to discuss cycle route improvements with City Council representatives.
Fri 22 – Banksy (Easy – 10 miles)
A gentle paced tour around the City searching for works by the enigmatic artist.
BCyC rides are open to all types of cyclist, young and old, athletic or disabled, from slow urbanites to fast racers. We are sociable folk, and always welcome new members and old faces alike.
