An update from Ian Pond
Further to the Annual Review in February there has been has some further changes within the committee that I wanted to let you know about, but there are also some opportunities to get involved in our committee, if that could be of interest.
Firstly, Richard Williams & Alex Martin have both stepped down from the committee, on behalf on everyone, I’d like to express our thanks to both of them for their work for the Campaign.
I am delighted to say that Dulce Pedroso was unanimously voted in to join the committee at our last meeting. Dulce brings new insight on diversity, gender & inclusiveness to our group through her work on assessing the impact of international development aid work and her research with the Active Travel Academy (See Dulce’s article about her work on University of Westminster blog).
Opportunities to get Involved
At the Annual Review, we advised that we were working to establish the campaign as a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) as this will help us to participate in some new projects and access some financial benefits. I’m happy to report that this is moving ahead and as part of this process, we are looking to strengthen the committee further with the addition of two new members with particular responsibility for:
- Our new website (which will be WIX hosted)
- Membership (particularly looking after our CRM).
If either of these committee roles might be of interest to you, please do let me know ([email protected]).
Also, our treasurer, Martin Tweddell has decided it’s time to step down from the role in the course of this year, accordingly we will be launching a search for a new treasurer. We will be looking for the incoming treasurer (which is also an officer role) to be an existing member or someone who knows our work well.
And finally, just a reminder of the other committee members as adopted/readopted in February.
- Liz Daniels – Officer of BCyC & Secretary
- Toby Wells – Space for Cycling Lead
- Tom Swithinbank – Partnerships Lead
- Eric Booth – Web & CRM Lead
- Nick Davies – Legal Lead
- Mark Brough
