With in-person meetings & activities back on the agenda, we wanted to help celebrate “Bike Week” in June by hosting a ride event on Sunday 12th June – departing the start point at 10am.
This will be a “Discover Bristol” ride (like we used to organise before COVID) and it is designed to help people to become more familiar with finding their way around Bristol’s network of cycling routes.
The circular ride route starts centrally at the Arnolfini and will head north towards University of the West of England (UWE) Campus along the Concorde Way and returning along the Frome Valley Greenway.
We shall meet outside the Arnolfini gallery near Prince Street bridge on Bristol’s harbourside, and then navigate a route that keeps us off of the road through the city centre to St. Werburghs. We shall then cycle up the Concorde Way up the edges of Lockleaze and Filton to a café near UWE. After optional tea and buns we will brush the edge of the UWE campus and then descend back to the city through the Stoke Park estate, through Eastville Park and underneath the M32 motorway, back to the harbourside.
Our pace will be gentle. This ride will be suitable for novices and young people.
There is masses of car parking (too much!) near the Arnolfini. The ride is free and there is no need to book, but you can if you want using our event on Facebook. Either way, please join us (arriving 15 minutes early would be good!).
